Arctic Expertise in Lapland

The Arctic Council will be chaired by Finland in 2017–2019. During this period the Lapland Arctic Council Host Committee will foster the local perspective by showcasing Lapland’s Arctic expertise and by providing information about the Arctic Council to the local people.

Who we are
The Lapland Arctic Council Host Committee is a regional cooperation network of diverse actors: universities, research and educational institutions, expert organizations, companies, cities, and municipalities.

What we do
Lapland is a region of growing Arctic potential stemming from a unique combination of Arctic wilderness, versatile business opportunities and internationally recognized research activities.

During the chairmanship the Host Committee will promote Lapland's unique Arctic Expertise by organizing side events in connection with the formal Arctic Council meetings and other Arctic events taking place in Lapland. Information events will also be organized for the local communities.
