The Arctic Council will be chaired by Finland in 2017–2019. During this period the Lapland Arctic Council Host Committee will foster the local perspective by showcasing Lapland’s Arctic expertise and by providing information about the Arctic Council to the local people.
Lapland, North of Finland, is a region of growing Arctic potential. Lapland is a rare combination of countless small villages, urban city centres and tourist resorts, but with plenty of room for everyone. From Lapland, you find forests, roaring rivers, a wide range of research services, and a stable investment and business environment supported by strong cross-border cooperation and collaborative networks.
In Open Arctic, we collect Lapland’s experts and solutions to complex Arctic issues under one umbrella. Knowhow on raw material extraction, cleantech, cold climate testing and EIA, logistics, tourism and natural products are here for you to discover.
If it works here, it works anywhere!
